And even that has devolved into one group of posters slamming another group - with me out of the discussion entirely!

Yes, but it depends on the context of how child abuse is being applied. For example, my good buddy is a devout Red Sox fan while his wife has a ticket package for the Yankees (she's a big fan herself). While my friend was away, she put their infant into a Yankees one-sey and plastered her Facebook page with the photos. He responded that it's "child Abuse" and he was calling CPS to report her.
